Free email support is available to parents and schools in the district who be struggling to support children with additional needs while they are learning from home due to COVID-19 school closures.
Yes@Areté Learning Trust is run by the Areté Learning Trust, which operates Northallerton and Stokesley secondary schools.
“Everyone is doing their bit in these challenging times,” said Kath Lawson, director of inclusive support for Yes@Areté Learning Trust.
“Whilst we aren’t able to deliver our regular training courses or provide outreach support we will do our best to work alongside schools, parents and students across the region to support students who are now tasked with learning from home.

Yes@AreteLearningTrust, formerly Yes@Richmond School, has provided training and inclusive sporting opportunities for hundreds of school staff, parents and pupils since it started in 2017.
Their work will now be extended across the locality of the trust’s three member schools of Richmond, Northallerton and Stokesley.
They will offer support to many more primary schools and parents, reaching out to a wider area with their extensive range of courses covering all aspects of educational needs.
Yes@Areté Learning Trust is expanding its services and Mackenzie Thorpe was due to join the team for a special event to launch their new programme of support.
The event will be rescheduled and Mackenzie will join parents, professionals and pupils in celebrating inclusion and diversity and also marking the incredible achievements of the 43 schools supported so far.
Kath added: “Already 1,004 teachers, parents and pupils have benefited from our training as well as a further 141 students enjoying our Big Lottery funded and highly successful ‘Activities for All’ programme. We are looking forward to reaching and supporting many more students in the area.
“We were absolutely delighted when Mackenzie accepted our invitation. He is an advocate of inclusion and the importance of appropriate support in schools. He is also a fantastic example of what can happen when you focus on your strengths rather than your difficulties.”
YES have worked with a host of innovative and leading educators, supportive parents and many inspirational pupils over the years. Yes@Areté learning Trust is looking forward to delivering traded support for local schools and colleges alongside opportunities for schools to be affiliates of and become involved in research around inclusive practice.
