More big names have been added to Northallerton’s first music festival this summer.
The North Yorkshire Music Festival takes place at Canada Fields Caravan Park from August 13 to 15.
Judge Jules, Danny Rampling, Toploader and The Hoosiers will perform across the three days.
Organisers have now announced that The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club will headline on Sunday, with Capital FM DJ and former JLS star Marvin Humes taking to the decks earlier in the day.
Sunday’s line-up will also shine a spotlight on northern talent with the addition of singer-songwriter Geoff Mull and duo He Knows, She Knows, while those heading to the event on Saturday can keep little ones entertained with much-loved children’s character Bing and interactive performances from Let’s Circus.
Craig Charles launched his BBC radio show, The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, nearly two decades ago and it has since toured around the UK and beyond, including performances at Glastonbury and gigs in Australia, Dubai and Ibiza.
The acclaimed actor and presenter, who is also known for famed roles in Red Dwarf and Coronation Street, celebrates classic hits from the roots of black music along with new releases and club classics.
And music fans will also be able to see Marvin Humes when he takes to the stage on Sunday.
The singer rose to fame as part of award winning boyband JLS before moving into tv and radio presenting, with stints on This Morning, The Voice and music quiz show The Hit List, and has launched his own successful club night, Marvin’s Room.
Paul Waite, CEO at ISG – which organises the festival – believes the event ticks all the boxes.
“We are delighted to be announcing even more acts to join what was already a really strong line-up,” he said.
“Craig Charles and Marvin Humes have a huge stage presence and are sure to get a really party atmosphere going and it’s fantastic to give a platform to northern talent too.
“We are really striving to make sure there’s something for all ages to enjoy across the weekend and it’s shaping up to be an incredible event.”
The festival kicks off with a Friday night dedicated to Ibiza Classics, which will include a performance from 20 piece orchestra Ibiza in Symphony.
Toploader, The Hoosiers and Lawson will take to the stage on Saturday, followed by more big name acts on Sunday – along with entertainment for younger festival-goers including hosts Sam and Mark, The Military Wives Choirs, Peppa Pig and Dino Live.
Organisers have also announced a new weekend ticket for entry to all three days, priced at £85 for adults and £60 for 3-17 year olds, while day, camping and parking tickets are also available.
