Firefighters tackle Thirsk flat fire after flames spotted coming from window

Firefighters were called after flames were spotted coming from a flat window this morning.

The incident in Norby, Thirsk, in a second floor flat was reported at about 7.35am this morning.

Fire crews from Thirsk, Northallerton and Ripon responded to the incident..

On arrival crews entered the property using breathing apparatus as it could not be verified that all occupants were out of the building.

Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and established that all occupants were out of the property.

Crews then continued to check over the property for signs of fire spread.
