Firefighters rescued a dog after it fell down a disused mine shaft at the weekend.
Crews from Helmsley and Malton were called to the incident at Chop Gate about 9.30am on Saturday.
Firefighters located the ten-month-old Labrador called Piper about six feet from the surface.
Crews used ropes and a ladder to rescue Piper before putting temporary safety provisions in place around the mine shaft.
