Firefighters have worked together to climb the equivalent of Mount Everest for charity.
Crews from Northallerton and Richmond managed to climb a total of 8,848 meters in under four and a half hours at Northallerton Town Hall.
The crews originally wanted to raise money to support one of their colleagues, Richmond firefighter Tanya Liversedge-Gel, who has recently undergone a double mastectomy due to breast cancer.
She is also going through a course of chemotherapy.
Everest challenge completed! 8848 meters in under 4 and a half hours. Many thanks to all that joined in, supported and donated. Our very own Tanya completed the very last climb. @NorthYorksFire pic.twitter.com/Hb52x8n5QW

Along with her wife she has decided to run a marathon in Death Valley this December.
The trip has already been paid for but they have set a fundraising target of £5,000 in aid of South Tees Hospital Charity and The Fire Fighters charity.
The crews wanted to support Tanya and also a little boy called Freddie Thompson who was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma at the age of just two.
However, Tanya already felt like she had already raised enough money for her marathon and charities and that the money should go to an appeal set up by Freddie’s family called Freddie’s Fight.
The event will be held in her name instead and will be called Tanya’s Ladder Climb for Freddie.
The proceeds will be split between Freddie’s Fight and The Fire Fighters Charity.
