Firefighters were called to tackle a chimney fire in Bedale yesterday.
The incident in Kirkbridge was reported at about 10.05pm.
A crew from Bedale responded to the fire within the flue of a chimney.
The fire was confined to the chimney and extinguished by the crew using chimney rods and a knapsack sprayer.
Firefighters also used small tools to gain access and inspect the affected area thoroughly using a thermal imaging camera.
Advice was given to the occupant.
