Firefighters were called to a fire in a kitchen in Sowerby near Thirsk yesterday.
The blaze was reported just before 6pm.
Crews from Thirsk and Northallerton attended the fire in the kitchen of a terraced home.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire started in the oven and caused fire damage to the oven and kitchen.
Firefighters say smoke alarms activated and raised the alarm.
The cause was accidental.
