Firefighters were called to rescue a squirrel today.
The incident happened at about 4.30pm in The Stripe in Stokesly.
Following a call from the public and RSPCA being unable to help, firefighters from Stokesley responded to a report of a squirrel trapped behind a house downpipe.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said that as a nine-metre ladder was being put up, the squirrel “self-rescued to safety”.
It is not known if it was a grey or red squirrel.
