Firefighters called to flooding in Thirsk

Firefighters were called out to help with flooding in Thirsk today.

A crew from Northallerton were called to assist with flooding in a property in Newsham Road at about 8.30am.

Firefighters used a light portable pump to pump flood water away from the property and into an adjacent, lower level area.

In a separate incident, a North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service officer attended premises in Dalton, near Thirsk, at about 11am where work had stopped due to large scale flooding.

Advice was given to the occupant about the correct agency to contact regarding the issue.
