Firefighters were called to a fire to the rear of a cooker yesterday.
The incident in Sowerby was reported at 8.50pm.
Thirsk firefighters attended the fire.
They isolated the gas, allowing the flame to burn out.
The crew also carried out a safe and well check and gave advice.
