Firefighters were called due to a strong chemical smell coming from a fridge.
The incident was reported at about 10.50pm on Friday.
Crews from Thirsk and Northallerton attended the incident in a residential property.
On arrival crew used breathing apparatus to enter the room and remove the fridge.
They then used a positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the room due to a very strong chemical odor emitted from the fridge.
