Firefighters wee called out last night after petrol was thrown on a garden fire.
The incident happened at around 10.40pm in Ashlands Road, Northallerton.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Northallerton (firefighters) responded to reports of a fire in a garden to the rear of a property.
“On arrival crews confirmed this had originated as a controlled burning in a brazier that had become out of control due to petrol being thrown on the fire.”
Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel and thermal imaging camera and gave advice to the occupants.
