Firefighters break down door to help intoxicated woman

Firefighters broke through a door to help a woman who had fallen yesterday.

The incident happened in Stokesley at about 6.20pm.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said its Stokesley crew was asked at help carers in gaining entry to a property where the occupant had fallen.

A spokesperson added: “Crews broken in through the door an assisted an intoxicated female back to her feet.”

In a separate incident, firefighters from Thirsk crew attended a report of a bin on fire in the open grassland behind the fire station at about 9.30pm last night.

The fire in Castle Garth was out on their arrival, however the crew dampened down with buckets of water
