Police say a large barn fire near Stokesley could have been started deliberately.
More than 30 firefighters worked through the night to tackle a major barn fire.
The incident occurred at a farm on the outskirts of Stokesley neat Tanton Grange.
North Yorkshire Police said fire investigators had been on scene and were treating the blaze as suspected arson.
A police spokesperson for: “They are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
“Several youths were seen running away from the barn at the time of the blaze starting.”
Crews were first called just before 5pm on Wednesday to around 2,00o straw bales on fire in three connected barns.
Firefighters from Stokesley, Northallerton, Danby, Coulby Newham, Thornaby and Middlesborough attended the incident.
Crews attempted to extinguish the fire with four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets as well as 45mm and 70mm hoses.
Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene throughout Thursday and possibly into Friday.
