Police firearms officer were involved in the search for a suspicious vehicle spotted in Thirsk last night.
Police were called after concerns were raised about the behaviour of the occupants of a Mercedes van.
Police including officers from North Yorkshire Police’s firearms unit were called in to search for the vehicle, which found eventually found in the Ryedale area.
Drugs were found inside the van and the driver was arrested after testing positive for cocaine use using a roadside testing kit.
In custody, the driver refused to provide a blood sample at custody meaning they will appear in court charged with failing to provide specimen for analysis.
They also admitted possession of cocaine and will receive a caution for that offence.
The van was also seized for not being taxed.
