Fire crews monitor Tesla battery after crash

Firefighters monitored a Tesla battery after a crash with other vehicles yesterday.

The emergency services were called to a three-vehicle collision at just after 7pm at Ellerbeck, near Northallerton.

Fire crews from Northallerton and Thirsk attended the crash involving a Mitsubishi pick-up, a Fiat van and a Tesla.

All occupants were out of the vehicles upon the fire service’s arrival.

A female occupant of the Mitsubishi sustained a neck and shoulder injury and crews applied a collar until the arrival of the ambulance when she was assessed on scene.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews monitored and checked the Tesla battery and moved this down a track and the other vehicles were moved from the road.

“Crews used a neck collar, thermal imaging camera and torch.”
