The emergency services were called to a crash involving a car and a motorcycle at North Stainley today.
The incident on the A6108 was reported at 12.30pm.
The Ripon and Bedale fire crews were dispatched to the scene to assist the ambulance crew in releasing the motorcyclist who was trapped.
The injured rider was airlifted to the hospital for treatment, and the incident was handed over to the police for further investigation.
