Fire crews from Northallerton, along with a crew from Thornaby, responded to the two-vehicle collision involving a Land Rover Discovery and a Vauxhall Corsa van
All occupants were out of the vehicle on the arrival of crews.
A medium-sized dog was trapped in the Land Rover in a crate.
Crews gained access to the crate and released the dog using spreaders and bolt cutters.
