Several people were taken to hospital following a three-vehicle collision on the A19 northbound near Thirsk on Tuesday night.
The collision occurred east of Thirsk where the the A168 becomes the A19 at about 10.15pm.
Firefighters from Thirsk, Boroughbridge and Ripon, along with a local officer attended.
Crews helped ambulance crews with lighting for the scene and carried out general scene safety.
Casualties from the first two vehicles were out on arrival of the fire and rescue crews.
Two occupants in third vehicle also made there way from their vehicle without assistance.
All casualties were taken to hospital via road ambulance.
