The East Coast Main Line has reopened after person was hit and killed by a train.
The emergency services attended the scene between Thirsk and York stations at about 7.15am.
LNER later confirmed a tragedy had occurred on the line.
The route was shut in both directions while emergency services worked at the scene.
The line reopened at about 10.45am, although passengers were told to expect further delays until the backlog of trains cleared.
