Reigning Britcar Endurance Champion, Matt Greenwood, from Easingwold, has been announced as brand ambassador of Kinoko Kombucha, an up-and-coming Yorkshire soft drinks brand.
Tockwith Motorsports (TMS) driver, Matt, will represent Tockwith-based Kinoko during all his race meetings in 2019, by keeping a bottle close-by as he tops up his energy levels during a hectic race weekend, as well as using it during training in-between.
Kinoko is a lightly-sparkling, gently-flavoured soft drink derived from green tea. The fermentation process creates a refreshing and fruity flavour, naturally falling under the sugar levy, without the need for sweeteners.
The 16-year-old, who became the youngest-ever Britcar champion in 2018, said: “I am proud to be named as Kinoko’s brand ambassador and to support a Yorkshire company. Kinoko is not just delicious, but it has the natural ingredients to improve my energy levels and immune system.
“As a reigning champion myself, I am delighted to champion Kinoko and look forward to using it in training and at race meetings throughout the 2019 season.”
Kinoko Founder and former science teacher-turned-brewer, Debbie Wild, added: “It is great to have Matt’s support. The whole ethos behind Kinoko is that it offers a healthy, low-sugar soft drink, providing an alternative to alcoholic and commercial drinks laden with sweeteners.
“Matt is ambitious and has set his sights high; it is fantastic that he is a fan of Kinoko and can see how it is a healthier alternative, which can support his drive for success.”
Matt is currently studying at Loughborough College, where he is a member of Motorsport UK’s development pathway scheme for talented, young drivers, and has his heart on winning the Le Mans 24-Hour race. His race plans for 2019 will be announced shortly.
