A small village is staging the ultimate Yorkshire beer festival this weekend.

Not only will all the beers be from Yorkshire but one of them will be made with Yorkshire puddings.

Danby Wiske, near Northallerton, is to host its fourth Yorkshire Beer Festival – and Yorkshire Pudding Beer, made by the Yorkshire Pudding Beer Brewery of Malton, will one of the star ales available.

Organised by the village hall committee to raise funds for the hall, the event is held over two days on Friday, April 21, and Saturday, April 22.

The festival will feature 20 beers, one lager, two ciders and five bottled ales – two of them low alcohol – plus a range of gins, wine and prosecco.

All the beers are sourced from Yorkshire breweries and this year four will be supplied by Bayonet Brewing, Northallerton’s micro-brewery.

Chief organiser and village hall chairman Adrian Farmer said the Yorkshire Pudding Beer had proved a sensation since its launch just three years ago.

“It is made with real Yorkshire puddings and we expect it to sell well at an event where everyone can appreciate the best that Yorkshire’s breweries can produce.

“It’s just one beer in our biggest-ever line-up of top-quality ales which demonstrate what a great brewing industry we have in the county.”

Hot food will be available throughout the weekend and on Saturday there will also be live music from The Wiskey Band and Tom Thorne, String Edition and No Direction.

The festival is held in the village hall from 5-11pm on the Friday and from noon to 11pm on Saturday. Entry is £4 and includes commemorative glass and programme/tasting notes.
