Vandalism at Bedale Leisure Centre is set to cost £20,000 to repair, police say.
Police have appealed for infornation after damage was caused to the leisure centre boiler system.
It is understood something has been put into the flu.
In an appeal for information, police in Bedale say the damage occurred prior to May 10.
They say it has caused serious disruption to the centre and resulted in costs in excess of £20,000.
The pool at the leisure centre has been closed until further notice because the water temperature cannot be maintained.
A spokesperson said last week: “The boiler’s flue has been deliberately damaged and the pool’s water cannot be maintained.”
