Croft Circuit to welcome Darlington and District Motor Club

Croft Circuit welcomes Darlington and District Motor Club for their spring race meeting next weekend.

The two-day event will see seven classes consisting of a wide range of cars battle it out across the North Yorkshire track, including Caterhams, BMWs and Lotus’ amongst other marques.

The popular Northern Saloon and Sports Car Championship (NSSCC) will take centre stage with races on both days as rounds three and four take place over the weekend following their first trip out of the season to Snetterton in April.

Steven James, Gary Bowers, Chris Sparks, and Ian Towers jointly head the series as the teams head to Croft and will be hoping to get more vital points on the leaderboard.

Novice drivers will also have the opportunity to showcase their skills as the Caterham Academy series takes to the track for the opening round of their season.

The CNC Heads Sports Saloon Car Championship will be in action twice over the weekend where Andy Southcott comes to Croft following a pair of victories last time out at Donington Park in April in his MG Midget Lenham although the series is currently topped by Class E newcomer Wayne Spiller in his Mazda RX8.

The Scottish Motor Racing Club will be well represented with three of its series in action over the weekend.

The Scottish Legends Cars Championship face a busy weekend as they line up on the grid for three races on Saturday and three on Sunday. Lining-up alongside the NSSCC grid will be the Scottish Classic Sports and Saloon Car Championship where Iain Mitchell heads south of the border with the series lead following the season-opener at Knockhill last month with a five-point advantage over Craig Houston.

The Scottish Hot Hatch Championship, that also includes the Scottish Fiesta ST Cup and the Scottish C1 Cup, will also be competing for the honours as they take part in one race on Saturday and one on Sunday.

For classic fans there will be the 2cvparts.com Citroen 2CV Championship with the iconic French models going up against each other with a 15-minute race on Saturday and another 15-minute session on Sunday.

The weekend will conclude with a 20-minute Saloon and Sports Car Challenge.

On track action starts at 9.30am on Saturday with qualifying and at midday on Sunday. Adult admission costs £16.50 in advance on both days with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted free on both days. There is also free car parking and free paddock access.

Meanwhile, with not long to go until Croft Circuit hosts the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship over the weekend of July 27/28, advance tickets are now available as well as a unique BTCC VIP Hospitality Experience where guests can enjoy exclusive access to Hanger 50 which includes admission and programme, fantastic catering and a meet and greet with the BTCC drivers for an unforgettable experience. Adult advance prices for the meeting are £18 for Saturday, £33 for Sunday and £50 for a weekend ticket. Prices for 13 to 15-year-olds are priced at £6, £9, and £12 respectively and all accompanied children aged 12 and under go free. Further details at www.croftcircuit.co.uk
