A new craft brewery has launched in Northallerton.
Bayonet Brewing has been opened by beer enthusiast Alex Postles.
Alex, who serves with the military hence the name of the new business, has built the brewery in his garage.
Alex said: “We’re looking to build on the growing UK craft beer scene to bring an exciting, hop-forward, modern brewery to the town.
“Our initial beers include a 5.8% Oatmeal Porter, a 5% Hazy IPA and an 8% Double IPA.
This is only part of the initial launch though and moving into the new year we will be releasing a variety of other beers from IPAs and pale ales to stouts and sours.”
Alex added: “We’re currently producing small batch runs from a licensed garage in order to test the market and to build a presence in the local area.
“If this proves successful then the medium to long term plan is to relocate to a unit in town to bring an exciting brewery/tap room to the area.
Alex conducted a soft launch at the beginning of November with the official launch party held at the weekend at The Stumble Inn.
“The initial reaction has been overwhelmingly positive so we’re really hopeful this continues and people continue to enjoy the beer,” Alex added.
