Residents in the district still have time to have their say on accessing urgent care and NHS 111.
Over the last month, NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) has been speaking to local communities and gathering feedback to better understand how people access urgent but non-life-threatening medical care, their understanding of NHS 111, and how it can help them.
More than 500 responses have been received so far, with the ICB’s engagement team visiting 22 locations – ranging from football stadiums to leisure centres and spanning the length and breadth of the region. People were encouraged to come and share their views on accessing urgent care and offer insights that could improve services in the future.
The ICB’s Clinical Lead, Dr Nigel Wells, said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone who has taken the time to share their views and personal experiences with us so far as this will help us shape future campaigns.
“Our aim is to ensure that people access the right care at the right time and that those who need medical help but are unsure where to go, are reminded that NHS 111 will help you.
“NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can be accessed online, by telephone or through the NHS App.
“A trained professional will assess you and, if needed, direct you to the most appropriate service – which could be your GP practice, pharmacy or nearest urgent treatment centre”.
In addition to being out and about, the ICB is asking people to complete a short online survey, which closes on Friday 26 April.
All responses will be analysed to identify key themes and topics, and the data will be used to inform the future work of the local NHS.
