Classic sports car club race meeting closes Croft’s season

Croft Circuit’s race meeting season will conclude next Saturday when the Classic Sports Car Club (CSSC) arrives at the North Yorkshire circuit.

Fans can see a variety of racing cars from throughout the ages at the CSSC’s Croft Anniversary event with machines from the 1950s through to the 2000s including hatchbacks, saloons and single seaters taking to the track.

The one-day meeting will see qualifying take place throughout the morning before racing gets underway after the lunch break.

First to go out will be the WOSP New Millennium Series for post-2000 Production Cars, including Aston Martins, Lotus’ and BMWs, the Verum Builders Open Series, for all Production Saloon, Hatchback, Sports and GT cars of any age and the Liqui Moly Slicks Series, for all Saloon, Hatchback, Sports and GT cars with racing tyres set to all line up on the grid alongside each other for 40 minutes of action.

Spectators can then get a glimpse of the 1950s and 1960s with The Adams & Page Swinging Sixties series for all Sports, Saloons and GT cars originally produced in those decades, with cars up to the end of 1977 as they compete alongside the Mintex Classic K, showcasing pre-1966 GT and Touring Cars.

The Morgan Challenge will also take to the 2.1-mile track twice throughout the afternoon as the one-make series battle for the honours. Also in action will be the Co-Ord Sport Tin Tops featuring Saloons and Hatchbacks of any age up to 2000cc where they share the grid with the Puma Cup for the 1.7-litre Ford models and the Lohen Turbo Tin Tops for front wheel drive turbo and supercharged cars.

The track will echo to sounds of the 1970s and 80s as the Advantage Motorsport Future Classics line-up later in the afternoon with the modern classics produced up to the end of 1999.

Gates open at 9am with track action starting at 9.30am. Adult admission is just £16.00 on the gate on both days with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted free on both days.
