Thieves used power tools to cut into a garage to steal a classic Ford Escort.
A reward is being offered for the vehicle with the owners joking on social media that the thieves are wanted “dead or alive not bothered”.
Police are appealing for information after the distinctive yellow mark one Escort was stolen from a locked garage in Northallerton.
Thieves used power tools to cut into the garage itself and then cut through two locked gates to steal the car from Motorscope garage in Northallerton.
The car was taken from the garage which is on Standard Way, between 1.25am and 1.30am on Wednesday this week.
The vehicle which has the registration FEV 999H, was then sighted by witnesses heading north on the A1(M) towards Durham and Sunderland.
