Chance to find out more about mental health services at Northallerton event

The public can find out more about NHS mental health services at an event in Northallerton later this month.

Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust; NHS Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby Clinical Commissioning Group and other service providers are coming together for a free community event about local mental health services.

The event is taking place at the Golden Lion Hotel, Northallerton, on Wednesday, February 27, from 11.30am to 2pm.

Stalls from a range of services will be available, with staff on hand to explain about the services and answer any questions.

There will also be information about how to access help and advice on mental health issues.

The event follows the Transforming mental health services in Hambleton and Richmondshire public consultation, in which it was agreed to strengthen community based services so that more people could receive the care and support they need at home.

The new community mental health model, will provide extended hours with appointments for adults available between 9am-7pm Monday to Friday and 9am-5pm on Saturdays.

Older people’s services will be available seven days a week from 8am-8pm, and will provide support for people with mental health needs including those in care homes.
