CDs hanging in a garden are believed to have caused a fire in Hutton Rudby yesterday.
Firefighters from Northallerton were joined by a crew from Cleveland after being called to Rudby Bank at 3pm on Monday.
They arrived to find a wooden pegoda and decking measuring around 5m by 5m on fire.
Both items were destroyed in the blaze.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The cause is believed to be reflection of sunlight from CDs hung in the garden.”
Crews used one hose reel jet, small tools and thermal imaging camera.
