Firefighters were called to a commercial premises in Northallerton High Street yesterday after smoke was reported to be coming from the building.
A crew from Northallerton Fire Station was called to the scene at about 6.15pm.
However, the incident turned out to be a false alarm, with candle in a window prompting the call to the fire service.
