A lost cuddly toy is back with its delighted young owner after the boy’s parents appealed for help.
Five-year-old Benjamin Sewell, from Northgallerton, lost Bimmy in the car park at the town’s Asda supermarket on Monday.
His parents, Danielle and Chris, appealed on social media help to find him and were even prepared to offer a reward to get him back.
They also asked police for permission to put up posters in the town.
Hundreds of people shared and liked the appeal, however Bimmy was returned after a man who had found the toy saw a poster in Wilkos in Northallerton.
The man had also been parked in Asda and came back from shopping to find someone had put the toy on his car roof, possibly because he also has child car seats in the vehicle.
Mum Danielle said they had been overwhelmed by the kindness of residents in the town.
She added: “So many people have been so wonderful, sharing the picture or offering him their toys and rabbits.
“Benjamin was so lost and upset; he’s had him since he was a baby.
“We’ve been absolutely blown away by the response of everyone.”
