Tap dancers Alan Beattie, Joan Jerram and William Armstrong from Age UK North Yorkshire and Darlington’s Bedale Tappers group made the journey down to London to audition for the BBC’s Greatest Dancer program.
Their audition went well and Alan, Joan and William enjoyed the experience of a professional audition and being on the big stage.
They were impressed at the high standard of dancing on show which is open to professionals, amateurs and celebrities alike and Joan and William found their first experience of filming for television illuminating.
The group did their best and achieved a few votes from the thousand members of the audience.
The trio of tappers also spent a day filming and being photographed on the Wensleydale Railway’s station and they have been featured in supplemental footage used in the show.
Unfortunately, William Armstrong passed away in January after a short illness.
