Police say a Bedale resident has suffered a “great degree of upset” after their hedge was cut down in the night.
An appeal for information has been issued following the criminal damage which occurred at some point overnight on Wednesday, January 28.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “Someone has cut away a large area of hedge between a property on Sussex Street and a footpath that runs along side.
“The debris from the hedge was left strewn over the homeowners driveway.
“The damage has cause a great degree of upset for the victim, along with the financial impact of replacing the hedge.”
Police say they are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
