Police in Northallerton say a man they wanted to speak to has come forward.
Officers issued an appeal to speak to the man after he tried to find the owner of a cash withdrawal that had been left in a cash machine at the Coop service station near Lowgates level crossing on December 13.
Although the man took the money into the shop and tried to reunite it with its owner, he was unable to and left the store with the cash.
The person who lost the money has since come forward and is now out of pocket and officers want to trace the man to help them locate the missing money.
