Appeal after thieves steal dog from Stokesley garden

A family is appealing for the safe return of their dog stolen from their garden in Stokesley.

The six-year-old female cocker spaniel was taken from her pen in a garden in the town’s Allen Grove on Tuesday, July 28.

Owner Thomas Calvert says thieves were seen carrying off the pet upside down by her legs before throwing her into the back of a white car.

There is reportedly also CCTV of three culprits taking the dog at 11.45pm.

The dog had been with her family since she was eight weeks old.

The owners have chosen not to release her name.

The dog has been chipped and logged as stolen.

He described her as chocolate brown coloured with a patch of brown and white roan on her chest.

North Yorkshire Police is investigating the theft.
