
Firefighters were called out after animal feed caught fire in Great Smeaton today.
The incident was reported at about 3.45pm.
A crew from Northallerton attended a fire in the open which involved approximately ten tonnes of animal feed that was well alight.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, with the farmer using a loader to spread out the piles.
Lighting and a thermal image camera was also used.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
