Allerton Players promise thrills and laughter in latest production at Forum

Thrills and laughter aplenty are promised in the Allerton Players’ latest production at the Forum in Northallerton in November.

The Game’s Afoot by Ken Ludwig is set on Christmas Eve in 1936 and is a comedy whodunnit for all the family.

Hollywood star William Gillette has invited the cast of his play to spend the Christmas holidays with him at his castle in Connecticut.

When one of the guests is murdered, he dons the deerstalker and pipe of his alter ego, Sherlock Holmes, to find the killer.

“This play is such a lot of fun,’ said director, Deborah Hugill.

“It has all the elements of a classic whodunnit – an isolated house in the middle of a storm, a group of eccentric suspects who all have a motive, and an Agatha Christie style detective.

“But it’s also very funny indeed and there is definitely never a dull moment!’.

The play is being staged at rhe Forum, Northallerton on 21, 22 and 23 November.

Tickets are £10 and £8 for concessions and can be obtained from The Forum on 01609 776230.
