The A684 near Northallerton has been closed following a serious accident.
The road is shut between Warlaby Crossroads and Ainderby Steeple.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and use the A6055/B6267 to the A61 then the A167, via Skipton on Swale Bridge.
