THE A19 has been closed at Tollerton, between Thirsk and York, due to a serious crash.
Police have warned the road will be closed for a “considerable amount of time” following the traffic collision on the busy road earlier this morning.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Yorkshire Ambulance and police are all currently at the scene.
Diversions are in place through Tollerton and drivers are warned to expect long delays.
Police are urging people to use alternative routes if possible.
It has not yet been confirmed how many vehicles have been involved in the collision.
