The A19 is closed northbound following a serious collision.
The incident occurred this morning near the Cleveland Tontine.
The road is shut between the A172 and A67 junctions.
One lane of the southbound carriageway is also shut while emergency services work at the scene.
Traffic is being diverted up the A172.
Motorists have been warned to expect delays.
