Resurfacing work is to be carried out on the A167 Northallerton Road through Great Smeaton.
The work will begin on Monday, August 16, and will last for two weeks under a full road closure from 9.30am to 3.30pm, and some evenings between 6.30pm to 11pm.
“The A167 through Great Smeaton will greatly benefit from the upcoming resurfacing which will improve the condition of the increasingly busy road,” said local member Councillor Annabel Wilkinson.
“It is a key link between Northallerton and Darlington so we appreciate that the closure will cause a level of disruption.
“However, we are carrying out the work outside of peak times and during the school holidays with the travelling public in mind.
“Please be assured that the teams on site will do all they can to accommodate those needing to access properties and businesses within the closure.
“I would ask for your cooperation and understanding while the work is being carried out.”
Advance warning signs are in place and during the working period there will be a signed diversion.
