The A1(M) is closed northbound after a lorry lost its load.
A Portakabin has come off a lorry and is blocking the carriageway,
The road is shut between junction 49 at Dishforth and junction 50.
Traffic is being diverted along the A168.
Police say their are long delays.
The road could be closed until 11am, officials say.
