Kiplin Hall and Gardens hosts volunteer recruitment event

Kiplin Hall.

Kiplin Hall and Gardens will host a volunteer recruitment event to encourage more people to volunteer and be part of Kiplin’s so-called ‘fifth family’.

The venue was previously owned by four families, all related through blood or marriage and is now run as a visitor attraction by an independent charity.

Located between Northallerton and Richmond, Kiplin Hall and Gardens has over 200 volunteers helping Kiplin to operate.

Volunteers work in a range of roles across the organisation from the gardening team, or room stewards, to the archives and greeting visitors on the till.

Volunteers have been helping at Kiplin for over 20 years and are known affectionately as the ‘fifth family’.

Rosie Kluz, front of house and volunteers manager, said: “We’re really excited to be hosting this recruitment event and welcoming even more people to our fifth family. This event is the perfect opportunity for people to come along, have a chat and find out more about the volunteering roles we have here at Kiplin.

“This year we are keen to recruit more room stewards and tea relief volunteers. So, if you’re interested in history, like talking to people, and prefer to be indoors, these roles would be perfect for you!”

This year is a special year to join Kiplin as the venue celebrates its 400th anniversary.

The volunteer recruitment event is taking place from 11am to 12:30pm at Kiplin Hall on March 20 and is free to attend.
