Visitors to Northallerton Library have been invited to explore the world of the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm.
The library is showcasing work by acclaimed artist Christopher P Wood, whose new collection is inspired by the enduring fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm.
The exhibition is called Red Riding and The Brothers Grimm.
Christopher is recognised as an original voice in British art and is also known as a writer and composer. He is a painter and printmaker of atmospheric and enigmatic imagery.
His work features magical, symbolic figures and signs, what he calls an exploration of the interior world of the imagination.
The library exhibition also includes beautifully illustrated books of fairy tales from the library service’s historic collection, as well as fairy tale books to borrow for children and adults. The exhibition will be on during library opening hours until the end of March.
For more information, contact the library at northallerton.library@northyorks.gov.uk or call 01609 533832.
The library’s show is a sister display to Christopher’s exhibition at the Mercer Gallery, Harrogate, which is on from Tuesday to Sunday until March 29.
Admission is free.
