A community event which has brought joy to families for more that a century is facing an uncertain future.
Brompton Carnival and Sports which dates back to at least 1913 is in jeopardy due to the lack of committee members and volunteers.
The carnival takes place throughout the last May Bank Holiday weekend with the main event taking place on the
Bank Holiday Monday.
It attracts hundreds of residents, local businesses, visitors and local artists, but the organising committee is down to just a handful of volunteers.
A spokesperson said: “We are getting to the stage where we just can’t continue without more help.
“Our carnival is one of the biggest in the area and the only one lasting a whole weekend.
“It’s part of Brompton’s heritage and we want it to stay that way, but we can’t do it without more help, so if you can help, please get in touch.”
Brompton Carnival and Sports is looking for both people to join the committee and help behind the scenes.
