Local drama group athe Allerton Players is bringing a classic whodunnit to the stage in Northallerton later this month.

They are presenting The Mirror Crack’d, adapted by Rachel Wagstaff from the Agatha Christie novel, at the Forum in Northallerton on November 21, 22 and 23.

The play is set in St Mary Mead and features one of Agatha Christie’s most beloved sleuths Jane Marple.

The village has been thrown into a frenzy by the news that a glamorous American film star has bought the local manor house.

Miss Marple is confined to her chair after an accident but, when there is a vicious murder, she must unravel a web of lies, tragedy and danger.

Director Deborah Hugill said: “This innovative new adaptation will keep everyone guessing.

“The play has all the twists and turns and great characters you would expect and a good dose of humour too.”

Tickets can be booked at www.forumnorthallerton.org.uk or by phoning the Forum box office on 01609 776230.
