Th2 A19 has been shut following a serious collision.
The incident occurred at the crossroads for Carlton Husthwaite and Hutton Sessay south of Thirsk.
Police say the road is closed and is expected to remain shut for some time.
Firefighters from Thirsk and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance have been called to the scene.
Firefighters from Thirsk Fire Station said on social media: “Currently at the scene of a road traffic collision on the A19 at Hutton Sessay. The road is closed in both directions, and will be for some time, please avoid.”
