Firefighters were called out to an electrical cable on fire yesterday.
The incident happened in Romanby Road, Northallerton, at about 12.45pm.
Appliances from Northallerton and Bedale attended after reports of smoke in the street.
A spokesperson North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: ” On arrival this was confirmed to be caused by a small fire to mains electrical cable entering a ground floor flat.
“The fire was out on arrival with crews carrying out an inspection and handing the incident over to Northern Powergrid.”
A thermal imaging camera was used by firefighters to check the fire was out.
