Police have thanked the public for their response to an incident involving a suspicious van.
The incident happened at about 7.45pm on Saturday in Kirkby Lane, Kirkby Fleetham.
Police say the male occupant drove slowly past a dog walker, asking if she was ok and offering to give her a lift and to get in the van.
When she declined, the van driver drove off at speed out of the village.
In response to an appeal for information, police say they have received a number of calls from people passing on information.
A police spokesperson said: “We now have the relevant details required to follow this up.
“We’d like to thank the members of the public who have contacted us.”
